Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is Dyslexia?
Dyslexia is
a special natural ability—a perceptual talent or gift, not
a brain disorder. Dyslexics have the creative ability to think
in pictures. They can also view these mental pictures multi-dimensionally.
This is a wonderful, imaginative ability. Problems arise when
there are no pictures for the word or symbol they are looking
at or listening to. The result is confusion and disorientation
when reading, doing math, listening, and performing other tasks.
Dyslexia also manifests itself in other ways, like attention problems,
sense of time distortions, handwriting, balance/clumsiness, organization
problems, etc.
How
is the Davis Dyslexia Correction®
program different from other programs?
The Davis Program uses the person's own talents to correct the
problems. It also addresses all the areas of dyslexic problems
because it gets to the root of the whole cause of dyslexia, and
does not just treat the symptoms.
Who
can the program help?
Anyone from the age of 7 to adulthood who is experiencing any
of the difficulties described in the Characteristics of Dyslexia,
and who truly desires to change and improve.
What
benefits can I expect to gain?
You will be assessed to find the areas you can receive the most
benefit in, and set goals to correct problem areas. You will receive
the tools to improve your abilities in reading, writing, math,
spelling, controlling attention, controlling disorientations or
whatever area you desire help in. You will get a feeling of self-confidence
as you see yourself improving and successfully reaching your goals.
There is also a money-back guarantee that you will see results!
Will
I see results?
YES:
If you can be oriented (are dyslexic),
If you are motivated and want to change,
If you are responsible and willing to continue working on your
dyslexia after the initial week is finished—then you will
see great results!!
What
happens after the initial week?
You will continue to work on correcting the dyslexia by using
the tools you received during the initial week (orienting yourself,
working with clay, reading exercises, etc.). You also have unlimited
phone calls available to ask questions, and 3 follow-up visits
for help, if needed.
Where
can I get more information about the program?
